  1. Question 1
    Integrated Mathematics

A right triangle has a hypotenuse of 1010 and one leg of 66. What is the length of the other leg?

Not quite. The answer is: 88

    Topic: Pythagorean Theorem.
    Formula: a2+b2=c2a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
    Step 1: 62+b2=102⇒36+b2=1006^2 + b^2 = 10^2 \Rightarrow 36 + b^2 = 100.
    Step 2: b2=64b^2 = 64.
    Result: b=8b = 8.

  2. Question 2
    Integrated Mathematics

A rectangle has a width that is 14 units shorter than its length. If both dimensions are increased by 6, the length becomes thrice the width. What is the area of the original rectangle?

Not quite. The answer is: 15

    Topic: Geometric Algebra.
    Formula: L+6=3(W+6)L + 6 = 3(W + 6), where W=L−14W = L - 14.
    Step 1: Substitute WW: L+6=3(L−14+6)L + 6 = 3(L - 14 + 6).
    Step 2: Simplify: L+6=3L−24L + 6 = 3L - 24.
    Step 3: Solve: 2L=30⇒L=152L = 30 \Rightarrow L = 15, W=1W = 1.
    Result: Area=15×1=15Area = 15 \times 1 = 15.

  3. Question 3
    Integrated Science

Using Ohm’s law, what current flows through a 2 Ω resistor connected to 12 V?

Not quite. The answer is: 6.0 A

    Topic: Electricity (Ohm's Law).
    Formula: I=VRI = \frac{V}{R}.
    Result: I=12V2Ω=6.0 AI = \frac{12\text{V}}{2\Omega} = 6.0 \text{ A}.

  4. Question 4
    Integrated Science

A car speeds up from 10 m/s to 30 m/s in 4 seconds. Its acceleration is:

Not quite. The answer is: 5 m/s²

    Topic: Motion.
    Formula: a=vf−vit=30−104a = \dfrac{v_f - v_i}{t} = \dfrac{30 - 10}{4}.
    Result: a=5 m/s2a = 5\ \mathrm{m/s^2}.

  5. Question 5
    Communication Arts (English)

Identify the correct usage of fewer vs. less.

Not quite. The answer is: There are fewer cars on the road today.

Use 'fewer' for countable nouns (cars, apples, people). Use 'less' for uncountable mass nouns (traffic, water, air).

  6. Question 6
    Communication Arts (English)

    GRAPE : WINE :: MILK : ?

Not quite. The answer is: cheese

This is a raw-material-to-product analogy. Grapes are processed into wine; milk is processed into cheese.

  7. Question 7
    Communication Arts (Filipino)

Piliin ang wastong salita sa pangungusap: 'Umuwi siya ____ maaga upang makapagpahinga.'

Not quite. The answer is: nang

    Paksa: Wastong Gamit ng Salita.
Paliwanag: Ginagamit ang 'nang' kapag ang kasunod na salita ay sumasagot sa tanong na 'paano' o 'kailan' - dito, paraan ng pag-uwi ('maaga').

  8. Question 8
    Communication Arts (Filipino)

Ano ang kahulugan ng sawikaing 'isang kahig, isang tuka'?

Not quite. The answer is: Salat sa pamumuhay

    Paksa: Sawikain at Idioma.
Paliwanag: Ang 'isang kahig, isang tuka' ay nangangahulugang salat o kulang sa pamumuhay - araw-araw lamang ang kinikita, gaya ng manok na kumakayod at kumakain.

  9. Question 9
    Abstract Reasoning

Select the correct mirror image for the figure, assuming the mirror is placed on the RIGHT.

PLMAT abstract reasoning figure for question 9
Not quite. The answer is: D

    Topic: Mirror Images.
Observation: The mirror is on the right, so everything is flipped left to right. The shapes appear in the reverse order (pentagon, square, triangle), and the curved line bends the opposite way around the circle.
    Result: D.

  10. Question 10
    Abstract Reasoning

Which of the options A, B, C, or D logically follows the sequence shown in the first four squares?

PLMAT abstract reasoning figure for question 10
Not quite. The answer is: D

PLMAT reviewer FAQ

How many items and how much time is the PLMAT?

Past takers report 190 items in about 110 minutes across five sections: Communication Arts (English) with 50 items in 20 minutes, Integrated Science with 40 in 25, Integrated Mathematics with 40 in 40, Communication Arts (Filipino) with 30 in 15, and Abstract Reasoning with 30 in 10.

Is the PLMAT hard to finish on time?

Many students find the time limits tight. Reports put Math at about one minute per question, English at about 24 seconds, Filipino at about 30 seconds, and Abstract Reasoning at only about 20 seconds, so speed matters more here than on most entrance exams.

Does the PLMAT have a Filipino section?

Yes. Communication Arts (Filipino) has 30 items in 15 minutes. It covers wastong gamit ng salita, istruktura ng pangungusap, pagtukoy sa salitang ugat, idyoma at salawikain, pagsunod-sunod ng talata, and pag-unawa sa binasa.

Which PLMAT section is the hardest?

Students most often report Abstract Reasoning as the hardest, with only about 20 seconds per question. It rewards quickly rotating shapes in your head and spotting figure sequences.

How should I prepare for the PLMAT?

Train with a timer, since speed matters as much as knowledge. Don't skip Filipino, because 30 items is a meaningful share of the exam, and practice mental rotation so Abstract Reasoning feels faster.

Can I practice PLMAT questions for free on prepPH?

Yes. The sample questions on this page are free to try without an account. prepPH also has a free plan, and a Premium plan that unlocks unlimited flashcards and weak-topic breakdowns.
